Dr. Johnson is a board certified surgeon specializing in Otolaryngology and Head & Neck reconstructive surgery. Dr. Johnson received his Medical degree in 1990 from the Medical College of Georgia, graduating with honors. After Medical School, Dr. Johnson completed his Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Subsequent to completing his residency training, Dr. Johnson completed fellowship training in Head & Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa.
Following medical school, residency and fellowship training, served as Chief, Head & Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery and Assistant Chief, Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI from 1996-2001.

Dr. Johnson is board certified in both Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Johnson is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Head & Neck Society.

He is a member of the American Medical Association, the Georgia Medical Society, the Georgia Society of Otolaryngology and the Medical Association of Georgia. He has authored over 20 scientific articles in medical journals and is a 2002 recipient of the Honor Award from the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery for scientific research and peer instruction.

In his private life, Dr. Johnson volunteers as a Boy Scout leader and with Faith in Practice, an interdenominational Christian medical mission to Latin America. He is happily married to Dr. Stacie Wong of Savannah and has three children and two labradoodles (dogs!).
